This is the worst school I've ever sent any of my children to. My 10 year old son was beaten by 6-8 students in a bathroom. The boys who did it said it was because he is not Latino. This was the final straw for our family. Joshua will no longer attend this school. We were not called until 4:33pm and the incident ocurred at 10:02am. All the kids who beat and kicked my son were in school the next day. This is not the only time my son was beaten up at school. THere have been 10 additional times there was violence against Joshua and each time we were assured the offeders were being dealt with and there would be no further incidents. Each time we trusted the school. The principal, says now she never knew about any prior incidents. She says that the vice-principal, Ms. Martinez, never communicated with her that Joshua was hit in the head with a rock, that he's been attacked on the play-ground, etc....
I want to know how all these kids were able to follow my son to the bathroom at the same time. Where are the hall monitors? THere are none, according to the staff.
I am empressed with some of the teachers in the school. They too are frustrated by the lack of discipline exerted by the principal and vice-principal.
Let it be known that each time we spoke with the vice principal about the issues our son faced with some of these kids, we were told about how "rough their home lives are". I don't think in retrospect she ever cared at all about our little white son.
We have never cared at all about the ethinicity of the people around us. Our own household is a melting pot. We have found this whole experience very disenchanting.
