I just graduated in 2008, from Doug. I missed Doug so much i left once before due to the hurricane and i couldn't wait to rekindle, assuming nothing had changed. Those teachers, those office workers, those students all a part of my safety net very community oriented. Until arriving back to Doug it was an old friend i had hardly recognized those teachers had vanished accept maybe less than 5, those students displaced, those office workers were no more and those people were apart of my safety net seems like i had lost that too. So long Doug, hope we will rekindle that feeling again!

Douglass was an interesting school. You had to experience a school year to understand. The teachers i had were very attentive to my acedemic needs and sometimes my needs outside of school. I met my second family there. I did not realies how much i loved the community/unity that exist at Douglass until i had to attend a high school elsewhere due to the huricane. i may not have Douglass on my Diploma but my class ring reads c/06 Frederick A. Douglass. When i was there we were rising and i will forever rep Fredrick A. Douglass High. i miss F.A.D.

Recently, Wilfred Johnson assumed the principal position of Fredrick A. Douglass High School. I know Mr. Johnson well. He is a veteran secondary administrator who will lead Frederick A. Douglass High School to increased student learning and achievement. The Recovery School District of New Orleans is fortunate to have acquired Mr. Johnson.
