I attended Braddock Middle School some years ago. Now my little brother goes there, he takes both regular and support classes. The teacher seems very nice, however, there have been many times where the staff has been inconsistant and downright dissapointing. My mom worked hard to get my brother into that school, now that its happened we're all let down. I wish I could say I'm excited for my brothers second year, but I'm truly affraid he and my mom will be taken advantage of, yet again.
This is a great school I went there in first, second, and third grade the teahers are great.
My daughter has attended College Gardens for almost a full year. They moved into the new school just 3 months ago, and it is very nice and state of the art. It's in a great neighborhood, and I feel very safe with my daughter being there. The principal, Dr. DuPont, is very nice and tries to make things fun for the children. However, I feel that with the school having the distringuished rating that it has, there is alot of pressure on the teachers to make the children "perform", and that...
I did/do not like this school. My son attended pre-k Cherokee Lane for a short time. I pulled him out soon after he was allowed to eat food that he is allergic to despite the fact that the nurse, teachers and lunchroom staff were all notified of his allergies. I even put notes taped to his chest daily. There were numerous times where he came home with dirty underwear after having an accident in class.. not only were the undies dirty they were doubled up! Teachers at Ridge Elementary go that extra mile to help students learn. Teachers there are teaching new concepts,which amazes me when my son comes home with something new he is learning. Guess what parents we can also learn these new concepts that maybe we did not learn during our school days. Its most interesting to learn from our children and alot of fun. It also makes your child feel like they are learning something new and are teaching their parents to. Thanks to new concepts of learning.
