Pinewood, The wingers are going to miss this school.The school is amazing from the drum playing priciple. The secretaries,all the teachers,staff ,special education and after school programs and all parents we came to care about. Bluffview Montessori has an extremely high teacher turnover rate (7 teachers from a total staff of 13 in the last two years). This indicative of poor leadership at the board and administration level. Teacher leadership is threatened. This unhealthy, unsafe school environment threatens what ought to come first-----the good of the children.
"Minnesota nice" is the phrase locals use for most Minnesotans in general and the reason is the people are pretty laid back. They might be a bit stiff at first, but after they've met you, they're kind. The U of M is known as a first rate research university, so you'd think you wouldn't get to know many of the top professors, who might save themselves for the grads--not true. my child has to walk over 3 blocks to get to the bustop. i think that is a bit much for a 5 yr old to walk by themselves, especially in the winter. i wish there was a closer bus stop. i also wish there was more interaction between parents and teachers, i was expecting more welcoming into the classroom, and expected to know more about how my child was coming along in school
I FOUND THE PROFESSORS TO BE VERY FAIR WITH THE STUDENTS AND THEY WERE VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT THE CLASSES THAT THEY TAUGHT. IF YOU PUT YOUR BEST FOOT FOWARD, IT WAS VERY EASY TO BECOME SUCCESSFUL.
