Lack of leadership is the first thing that comes to mind when speaking of this school. The Vice Principal has proven to me that he is incapable of showing strong leadership when it comes to discipline and dealing with students. Phone calls home to tattle on an 8 year old little boy about leaning back in his chair in class has got to be the most petty thing I've ever encountered. From now on, the VP can just leave a message on the recorder for me to delete. My advice, do not move into a home zoned for Cottonwood Elementary. Better yet, don't move to Lyon County! Poor quality of teachers is also rampant in this community, making me kick myself in the arse for ever thinking of moving to this quite, happy and safe community with crappy schools.
