I have been so upset with the school that i googled "i dont like wintergreen primary that sent me to thios site.when i read Michelle comments i had to make sure that i had not reviewed the school previously and forgot it, cause her words were my words.now my 1st grader is starting to act out.the staff there acts hateful.i have 4 kids ages 7-25 so i have experience with elmhurst, wahlcoates(the best teachers i felt welcomed to come any time teachers communicated well} eb aycock, rose high, dh conley, bayboro nc,bridgeton nc and trinity christian school and wintergreen dose not compare to other schools and the reveiws polls they send from school does not ask question concerning relations with teacher, princible, all other staff it only asked enviroment questions neat and clean etc...my kid cries due to not wanting to go there i cant blame my child cause i hate going every morning to see them motioning arm/hand to hurry up at drop off line.we have too many tardies due to child cries before going and my child was happy with kindergarden teacher and loved school, but i was unhappy with school do to rest of staff that year.especially that lady in the office she talks hateful to parents imagine how she talks to kids when parents are not there.the principle is not freindly either i was there after a pta meeting.the staff act as if our kids are in prison or like michelle stated in her comment "military school" a freind of mine kid went there years ago and liked the school but princible was different then.I know one teacher personally and she has confided not liking the staff either agrees with me staff hateful.its almost like the movie "stepford wives".my kid makes good grades but i fear they will drop next report card coming up.my child has begged me to call the school the assistant princible not very helpful either.i try to be positive about school to my child but its starting to really stress me.what can we do as parents to make this better i know the other schools in pitt county were/are good.thanks michelle for your comments it helped me feel better to express myself.teachers/staff actions towards kids at such a early age have affect on kids actions they learn what they see and how they are treated.it almost like school hiding something from parents

My child is in the second year at this school, and I must say I am more disappointed this year than last year. The administrative staff, are not as welcoming as they may need to be, the support staff are not always available. The principal and assistant principal are not socialable nor are they attentive with hearts of a parent towards the children. Parents involvement is only welcomed if the check books are pulled out or if the classroom needs a "volunteer" because of short stafffing. I have been on the campus and tried to see my child, and I felt as though I was going to be screened for a state job. The classrooms are not on an open door policy, you have to make an appointment to see the child in natural action in a classroom setting, which then negates the reason for "popping up". The staff are not always willing to go the extra mile. I understand that the child is to learn the structure of the school, but the staff needs to remember that these are children and this is not a military school. Some of the teachers are great, but what roles do they really play when the frustration superceeds the patience. Some elder teachers may need to move to teach children that are of a more discipline age (3rd and up). Kindergarteners are very impressionable and need to be molded, not underminded. I really hope that the teachers and staff keep in mind that one day, their child will be in the midst of a "teacher", "principal" or "support staff" and may want the same consideration and respect upheld. I have a younger child that is suppose to go to WGP, but I may move to allow for a better school. WGP is not family friendly.
