I too am a former student. I cannot say a bad word about the experience of going to school at Arlington. Like Penney, there wasn't a cafeteria there when I attended, all the students were released to go home for their lunch. Living across the street, I needed only a fraction of the time alotted for that, so I had quite the extended midday break because of that policy.
My teachers were Mrs. Cupp, Mrs. Hubbell, Mrs. Devinney, Mrs. Coleman, Miss Mitchell (who became Mrs. Markwood) Mrs. Cobb, and then a variety thru 7th and 8th.
I too am saddened that the ol' school is being torn down, it served me, and thousands of others very well, giving us a very high quality education. I think it had a good # of years left in it, but oh well.

Since there was no Cafeteria or Library when I went to Arlington, I cannot write about them. I don't think we had Playground Facilities or Local Transportation either. But we had wonderful teachers that I will always remember. My mother and I had the same English teacher, Miss Catherine Bartley. My teachers were Miss Rakestraw and Mrs. McGinnis; Mrs. Bartel; Miss Dahlmeyer; Mrs. DeVinney; Mrs. Rust; Mrs. Etzel; Mr. Leonard (who taught me everything I know about Science!); Miss Fernside; and various art, music, and home ec teachers. Arlington School was a great school to grow up in, and I am very sad to hear that it is going to be demolished in the summer of 2007. I encourage other Arlington Alumni to write a review!
