I don't feel retired school teachers should be allowed to fill in for teachers on leave for long periods of time. The curriculum has changed, the teaching style has changed and these teachers may not be able to keep up with the pace. I know my child is suffering and his grades are suffering due to the lack of education his fill-in teacher has had, especially with all the advancement that is being made.
My child is failing where he didn't fail before. I know when we do the work at home he knows it and yet he fails on tests. I don't blame him. I blame the class structure. This is his future not hers, and I expect my tax dollar paid staff to see to it that he doesn't fall to the side because of the teachers incompetence.
