Outside of the private school system, schools cannot get any better than this one. I have 2 children who attend pole green and have dealt with 7 teachers and have had a wonderful experience with all. The standards of learning are extremely high at this school, and they do not settle for any less than excellence. The teachers in this school push hard, which i'm thankful for. They expect students to do their best and the parents to be very involved. My children are extremely lucky to attend public schools of this caliber. I'm convinced that none anywhere in the country can be found inside of the public school system. All of Hanover County has top notch schools, but pole green is very exceptional even for Hanover County. I have no idea what the previous comment was referring to.

The school has a cold, prickly, clinical feel. Very few teachers smile or say, "hello". Even when you speak to them, they stick their nose in the air. The principal smiles while talking condescendingly to you, however, she knows where the line is and seldom crosses it. This has many parents walking away just shaking their heads and asking themselves, "what did she mean by that? Did she really mean that like it sounded?" The answer would be yes. She just covers very well. I'm nervous every year wondering who my child's teacher will be. My cousin moved to Beaverdam in order to get her child out of the school.
