Horace Mann Middle School is an excellent place to be. Although I will be starting my second year at Horace Mann next fall, I have had a very good first impression. All the teachers I have encountered know the students' name and usually treat them as equals, which is a rare characteristicin a student-tercher relationship. It would be safe to say that the friendliness and support of the staff and faculty is what makes a student's school year a little less stressful. Eventhough the sports teams are terrific, the phisical education has room for improvment. In my experience, there wasn't a lot of opprotunities to participate in group games during gym class because it was just like free time. In my opinion, there should be more structured sports games in gym class and more classes than just one part of th whole year. In the matter of physical fittness, I also thinkj the cafeteria food should be healthier. i understand that individual schools can't do much about the matter because the food service delivers them the supplies, but there are some alternitives in food preparation. For example, baking things as opposed to frying them and using low or fat and sodium-free products. A few simple changes can seriously improve kid's health these days. Overall, Horace Mann is a fine learning place, but like everything there are always opprotunities to make things better.
