SUBJECT: Comparison/Contrast Analysis
“Redefining Fitness for Health and Fitness Professionals” and “College Eating and Fitness 101: A Guide for College Students” are two articles that discuss fitness and nutrition. Their topic matter may be the same, but the way they approach their discussion and the information they include are quite different. “Redefining Fitness for Health and Fitness Professionals” is a scholarly article that uses an eloquent tone, researched statistics, and a complicated format. “College Eating and Fitness 101: A Guide for College Students” is a popular article that uses a creative, easy-to-read …show more content…
“College Eating and Fitness 101: A Guide for College Students” simply includes the “how” to achieve fitness, not the “why.” The article is much shorter and gives only broad general information. The article is informal and would be more of a quick, fun, educational read. Even though the topic matter is the same for the articles, the style of the two differs greatly.
Layout design of each article
A simple look at the two articles lets the reader know that they will read completely different. “Redefining Fitness for Health and Fitness Professionals” appears to be more complex. The font is smaller and impressively large words jump out at the reader. The article itself is lengthier. Scientific and mathematical information is visibly included. A look at the article gives the reader a sense of academic excellence. The last page of the article includes a lengthy list of references, giving credit to its many research sources. “College Eating and Fitness 101: A Guide for College Students,” in contrast, reveals a much more basic, simplistic, and understandable layout. The layout of this popular article is more appealing to the eye. Pictures and bold font are used to draw the reader in. Bullets are included for emphasis. There is not a lengthy list of references following up the article. A simple look at the two articles shows there is a dramatic difference in the style. Furthermore, the layout gives insight into the information the articles will provide.
