The self-management support programs are different when it comes to complexity, from programs that are highly elaborate programs based on the internet with intricate algorithms that help the patients with enhancing self-care with time to simple programs based on the telephone for monitoring symptoms (Fisher & Dickinson, 2011).
According to the article, the increased popularity and the resulting real-world questions regarding the practical usability and applicability of the programs in a clinical setting, their sustainability, cost and effectiveness has caused a many researchers to embark on the surveys to find out how the support programs can be translated for general use. Therefore, the paper provides a perspective for analyzing the highly growing subject matter by analyzing a sample of five questions correlated to the topic that summarizes the key translational concerns and disputes for the programs. Some of the questions addressed in the paper include what the purpose of the self-management support program is and the kind of patients that are targeted, the type of media and the media traits used. The other inquiries concern how the self-management support program can be integrated into the ongoing care of the patient and the development and application costs of the program and how it will be support
