The function of this organization to extend health coverage to people over the age of 65 or people under the age of 65 or people with certain disabilities, kidney diseases, and qualifying children (Wallechinsky, 2013).
The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services is the federal organization that administers Medicare and Medicaid programs. CMS also over-sees the State Children’s Health Insurance Program that is financed by both the federal and state level government and administered by individual States (Wallechinsky, 2013).
