Organizational Design The process of structuring human and physical resources in order to accomplish organization objectives, involving dividing tasks into jobs, specifying the appropriate department for each job, determining the optimum number of jobs in each department, and delegating authority within and among departments. Advantages
• The performance of common tasks allows for work specialization, which increases overall productivity. • Training is easier because of the similarity of tasks and the resulting opportunities for inexperienced workers to learn from experienced workers. • A large, full-service hotel maintains an extensive organizational structure in order to quickly meet its guests' needs and desires. • Allows an organization to respond to the needs of particular types of customers, understand the organization as a whole and planning with suitable effective strategies that match customer demand. • Able to customize products and services to meet the needs of customers in different world regions.
Disadvantages
