Hoosier Burger In order for an organization to remain successful, it must be able to fulfill its day-to-day operations without mistakes. If these demands cannot be met, a new project must be created in order to stay in business and ahead of the competition. If an organization has a problem, they can benefit from fixing it by following a formal process for identifying, selecting, initiating, and planning projects (Valacich, 2009). Environmental laws exist and must be adhered to in order to prevent heavy fines or penalties. Possible certifications or licensing must also be attained for software just in case there are copyright laws Political feasibility involves understanding how key stakeholders view the proposed system (Valacich, 2009). If Bob and Thelma are the only stakeholders, then their agreement with the proposed project has already been addressed, but if there are others, they would have to agree on the upgrading to the new point-of-sale system for Hoosier Burger. Installing new information systems may redirect shifts of power within the organization causing possible differences between key members. In order for Hoosier Burger to remain successful, it must be able to fulfill its day-to-day operations without mistakes. Inventory management, marketing, customer service, and food preparation is critical to Hoosier Burger’s progression in the food industry. If these demands cannot be met, a new project must be created in order to stay in business and ahead of the competition. Hoosier Burger has a problem with the above-mentioned demands and can begin to fix them by following the first step, systems planning and selection, of the systems development life cycle.
