Being able to pull up and follow a task-based care plan enables each aide visit to become more productive while assigned tasks are properly documented (Home, 2013). They could implement a single handheld set or a combination of handheld kiosk sets to effectively reduce time management issues, employee’s absenteeism or tardiness, improve the document recording and return process, and improve strategic planning and performance monitoring efficiencies across a professional health services company that has over 40,000 employees in more than 300 locations.
High level solution
Determine if each nursing field requires its own system, software or section in the handheld systems, or if there are limitations that requires them to utilize one system over another. If there are no major technological issues, make sure there is no other issues like a resistance to change exist, review options with appropriate experts and consultants, select the system that meets the greatest needs of the company as a whole, and carefully review what problems might come up as you are switching everything over to something else. Then put everything into place and start using the new training and techniques.
