Introduction
As part of my Higher National Certificate in working with communities I am required to carry out a practical assignment in the form of a graded unit. This includes my current knowledge and experience gained from units completed throughout the course. The following information will provide the evidence of achieving this.

The interactionists’ perspective on education focuses in the process of different levels in achievement including the details of day to day life in schools. One of the advantages of the interactionists approach is that it shows educational experience is not just controlled by home background or knowledge and skill. It’s much more fun and fulfilling in ways with projects like this one.
Event established and reason for it
The project has been chosen to help bring parents together to work in co-laboration with schools in order to be actively involved in their children’s education and to encourage positive family experience and that schools and home school partnership can start to build good relationships with the parents.
Aims and objectives for activity The aim and objectives are to use the science as a focus on the children’s learning needs to engage with p6-7 families. To offer practical science workshops to pupils and parents that will help encourage them to work together at the home. It also provides a learning experience that demonstrates curriculum for excellence. To raise awareness to parents that home school partnership services are available to
