Summary
This study was undertaken to investigate the characteristics of a Centrifugal pump. The Centrifugal pump is largely used in petrochemical industries to move liquids around the plants and refineries.
Through common practise of Centrifugal pump operating characteristics is it possible to determine the optimum conditions of particular conditions. The results of typical characteristics are expressed on this work in terms of pump discharge pressure, pump efficiency, and power demand at various pump speeds of verses pump …show more content…
It is clear from the graph that as the flow rate is increased, the head increases.
This graph plots the rate of flow (Q) against the Shaft Power Input. The graph shows that as the rate of flow is gradually increased, the Shaft Input Power is decreased slightly.
This graph plots the rate of flow (Q) against Efficiency of the Water Pump. It is clear from the graph that as the flow rate is increased, the efficiency of the water pump increase.
Discussion
In this part of the study, the results obtained will be discussed and focused upon. This assists in deriving clear conclusions and provides recommendations. In this section, all tables and results will be discussed, and few samples will be picked and further explained and discussed.
From the first graph, it can be seen that as the rate of flow is increases, the head also increases. This observation showed that the rate of flow and head are correlated, and are proportional to each other. This correlation and proportional relationship can be further investigated and studied.
From the second
