Homework 1 has a maximum of 50 points. There are 4 questions. Students can discuss homework questions with each other, with TAs, or with the instructor, provided that the actual work is done individually.

4. (15 points) Consider a bagel store selling three types of bagels that are produced according to the process flow diagram outline below. Assume there are five workers, one for each of the tasks of cutting, grilling, putting veggies on the bagel, applying cream cheese, and wrapping. We assume that the demand is 600 bagels a day, of which there are 200 grilled veggie, 300 veggie only, and 100 cream cheese and the workday is 8 hours long.

Moreover, we observe the following activity times (in minutes/bagel):

Activity times are independent of which bagel type is processed at a resource (for example, cutting a bagel takes the same time for a cream cheese bagel as for a veggie bagel).
