I support and treat all patients as individuals and with respect and dignity when considering their needs and preferences. This involves asking them their opinions on every aspect of their daily lives, including how they wish their treatment to be carried out. Including their intimate hygiene and caring needs. Risk assessment must be carried out and the patient should be made aware that if they choose not to follow the course of treatment or advice that I may offer that they could leave themselves open to delayed recovery, infection and even new complications /conditions.
