Writing is largely an iterative process that improves with practice. We have done a great deal of writing and revising in this course. We have also read Timothy Flood’s Business Writing in its entirety. Reflect on your writing skills and confidence five weeks ago and consider the progress you have made. Specifically, what new skills have you added to your writer’s repertoire that will help carry you through your graduate program?

He reminded us the needs for using proper grammar and and proper . I have stated it was important to learn how

Using the words however and buts. Topic sentence that are not clear and doesn’t tell the reader what you’re going to discuss in your writing.

Professor and Class,

The challenges I face with writing are providing little or too much information. Sometime I tend to over do it in one area but not provide enough information in other areas. I also struggle with getting my letters or emails to flow properly. I think Flood’s suggestions will assist as well as challenge me in these areas.

Flood reminds us the importance of not plagiarizing and to be careful with using other writer’s work. It is important that writers cite everything that they using and to inform the reader where the cited information is coming from.
He insist that we reframe from using too many “however and buts” and to consider exploring different word choices. He encourages us to research our topics and to write our papers as if we have mastered the topic and we’re able to write our projects using our own words. He also reminds us of over using adjectives and adverbs and to be clear and concise about what the writer wants to convey to the readers.
