Captain Edith Strong In today’s society the employees need to feel appreciated as well as motivated to do his or her everyday job successfully. To run a successful business or police department, the workers must feel as if he or she is satisfied with the results of his or her hard work as well as appreciated for everything he or she has done. If the workers and the officers do not get the praise needed and the proper treatment at work he or she would not want to come to work or would feel as if he or she does not have to do much for the organization because nothing is giving back in return. Concerning relatedness needs the patrol officers are working by him or her selves and do not get the chances to have lunch or take breaks with other officers. By doing this the officers are not getting the chance to meet one another and become friends. By the officers having lunch today and taking breaks together, they would be able to build up his or her morale’s as well as get a chance to relax. Concerning growth needs the officers stated that his or her “morale is low” (More, Vito, & Walsh, 2012). When this occurs the officers would not have the confidence, he or she needs to carry out his or her job and well as his or her everyday life. Concerning job enlargement it would be more applicable in this case. Reason being, the patrol officers would not be doing the same job every day and would get a chance to try something different and spice up his or her work life a little.
Conclusion
To run a successful company the boss must make sure that his or her employees are working at the same level and help is given when needed. Within a police department every officer should work together and help each other out. By doing this work would get faster as well as officers would have enough time to reach certain calls faster, and the community would be happier with the officer’s response time. By having employees even officers take lunch together and work together would help build friendship, trust, and
