SUMMARY; PUMPING UP THE BRAIN
A broadcast from CBS televised a video clip from The Early Show. The show was about how exercise helps the brain perform better and may have crucial implications for kids. The host, Dr. Debbye Turner-Bell, provides many striking examples proving the importance of exercise: A high school in Illinois substantiated the importance of exercise with empirical test’s, which showed how students in PE classes performed better in a math test compared to inactive students. A professor at Harvard medical school, Dr. John Ratey, states that exercise produces growth factors called BDNF that helps producing brain cells in hippocampus – an area in …show more content…
Exercise is like a catalyst for REM. That is why exercise is so important if you want an effective REM. The real problem occurs when you overlap your lack of sleep with caffeine. Caffeine exacerbate REM. The result of sleep deprivation is not only affecting you mental, but also physical because some hormones are produced that interacts with the metabolism.

Obesity, obesity… and obesity! – I think you’ve got it. We both know this “obesityepidemic” is becoming a social problem. Everybody is interested to prevent this problem to evolve, but the outcome is quite the reverse. Fox News ran an article called Phys Ed Cuts May Leave Children's Health Behind, which stated: "Children who are physically active during school [...] are more likely to be physically active after school as well". Still, why not take care of this obesity problem? It’s simple; exercise should prevent it – or at least abate the current problem. If sport becomes an integrated part of the schooling, would mostly all kids copy this habit and start exercise out of school. Endorphins are, as a matter of fact, extremely addicting. We just need to stretch the limits of our conservative views. But, scheduling PE classes isn’t enough. For instance – it takes a lot of unnecessary time to change clothes, taking a shower, et cetera.
