Booklet of Assessments
This document contains all the assessment information you will need for the HNC Social Care. They are collated in chronological order with the lecturer responsible (where this is known) identified on the assessment. It is up to the learner to ensure that the assessment is handed in by the deadline. The assessment schedule will be posted on the moodle site.
All work should be word processed and include appropriate references both in main essay through acknowledgement using the author surname and date of publication and detailed as a full reference in an end list attached to the back of your work. Candidates are required to use current research evidence to address point 4 in the written assignment and should work individually or in groups to create a portfolio of evidence, which should be submitted with their written assignment. Candidates will be assessed on their ability to cover points 1 – 4 in the written assignment not their oral communication skills. Candidates may use visual aids such as PowerPoint or Flipcharts but must inform the assessor of their intention to use visual aids at least 2 weeks before the agreed presentation date.
Presentation length: 5 – 10 minutes
Written Assignment Guidance
The expected total word limit for the written assignment is 1500 words.
The individual word limit for points 1 – 4 in the written assignment is 500 words. This section of the assignment should be written in summary form and based on the material candidates have produced
