Another model that could be used as part of the personal development process is: ➢ Gap Analysis - A technique for determining the steps to be taken in moving from a current state to a desired future-state. Also called need-gap analysis, needs analysis, and needs assessment. Gap analysis consists of (1) listing of characteristic factors (such as attributes, competencies, performance levels) of the present situation ("what is"), (2) cross listing factors required to achieve the future objectives ("what should be"), and then (3) highlighting the gaps that exist and need to be filled. (Business Dictionary.com)
All tasks/goals that are identified need to be SMART:
S – Specific (clear, straightforward, understandable)
M – Measurable (time, quantity, quality)
A – Achievable (challenging but within reach of the individual)
R – Relevant (to the objectives of the business)
T – Timely (to be achieved within a set time line)
KCC provides role specific training, some courses are mandatory such as Health & Safety, Mental Capacity Act and Adult Protection. Other courses such as Visual Awareness, Stroke Awareness and Makaton are used to increase knowledge and skill in particular areas to meet individuals’ personal
