QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE RESEARCH
Qualitative research is used to explore and understand people's beliefs, experiences, attitudes, behavior and interactions. It involves collecting opinions and views which may be written or spoken. A typical question asked in this type of research is ‘What do you think about x’? It allows respondents to give their opinions, reasons, and motivations for thinking something or doing something. This helps researches to find out information about their given questions. Anyway, to bring people together and record what they have to say would be possible just to research a small part of the market. That may not be truly representative of the target group.
Quantitative research generates numerical data or data that can be converted into numbers. It has the potential to find out facts about a much larger group of people then qualitative research, but it is not possible to change the questions.
