Promote Person-Centred Approaches in Health and Social Care
There is no doubt that person-centred care values must influence all aspects of health and social care work. Health and social care should be based on person-centred values, and should be individualised as this is a law requirement (Human Rights Act 1998, Health and Social care Act 2012, Codes of practice for Social Care Workers, etc). If person-centre values that underpin all work in the health and social care sector are followed as they should be then all individuals should feel that and health and social workers ensure that:

• Be prepared to spend extra time, for example perhaps someone would have difficulty in watering the house plants because of mobility restrictions, but you could move the plants to a place where the individual can reach them, and the return them to their normal place once they have been watered.
• Don't let setbacks prevent future involvement- -we have all broken a plate or mug at some time when washing up. Perhaps it helped us learn not to stack the dishes too high next time. When we realise we make mistakes and learn from them it helps us to remember that the people we support are learning too.
Describe how to support an individual to question or challenge decisions concerning them that are made by others
You need to make sure the individual has all the information and that they understand it in order to make an informed decision. The individual have the right to make their own choices and decisions under the human rights act, as long as the decisions they make do not put them at risk of harm or injury and they have the metal capacity to make the them. I can support them to question or challenge decisions made by others by speaking on their behalf to do this I would need to know exactly what the individuals wishes are, and record it for them to sign.
